My little Annie, oh boy, see what is under all that mat!! Rescued from AZ Animal Control 1/24/03. I was searching for a poodle at www.petfinder.com. What came up is black poodle with long tail at the eastside shelter in Phoenix. When I get there I ask to see the black poodle ... they directed me to a cell where she was cowering in a corner. I picked her up and she licks my face. She was not what I was hoping she would be but after seeing the condition she was in I could not leave her. The shelter said she was 5 yrs old and had to be left until they spayed her. After removing her from the Shelter I took her to my vet for an examination who determined she was really around 10 yrs old with beginning cataracts, and that she had a lump in one of her nipples which turned out to be cancer. He removed the cancerous cyst and she now has the spunk and energy of a very young dog. Annie has been one of the most positive things I've done in my life.
